On Oct. 6, a 15-year-old individual was discovered by police with serious injuries after an attack at a residence on Bay Road in Moosonee, Ontario, about 11:30 p.m.
Due to the victims age, their identity is not being released.
The attempted murder charges against three suspects in the attack have now been upgraded to first-degree murder.
On Monday, Oct. 10, police arrested two suspects related to the assault, 21-year-old Kaden Blueboy and a 14-year-old, who cannot be identified under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).
A third suspect, 29-year-old Cody Linklater, was arrested the next day on Oct. 11.
The investigation by the OPP’s James Bay Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, is ongoing.
