On May 23, at 10:45pm, staff at the Federal Training Centre in Laval Quebec discovered that Yacine Zouaoui was not accounted for.
Yacine Zouaoui is 32 years old, measures 185 cm (6 ft 1) in height and weighs 186 lbs. He has a dark complexion, brown eyes, brown hair as well as visible tattoos including a tear drop under his left eye and three dots in the web of his left hand.
He was last seen wearing a light coloured shirt, jeans and black sneakers.
Zouaoui is currently serving a life sentence for killing Zsolt Csikos, 43 with a sword in March 2011.
Anyone who has information on the whereabouts of Yacine Zouaoui is asked to contact the Sûreté du Quebec or call 911.
According to Sûreté du Québec (SQ) spokesperson Stéphane Tremblay, there is the possibility he might be in Ontario.
“We know that he left on foot but he could try to find a way to travel or try to request transport and he also could be outside of the province and could be in the province of Ontario,”
