During November of 1982, Guy-Charles Tousignant would be arrested for the homicide death of his room mate, 48 year old Alexandre Bouchard.
Bouchard’s badly decomposed body was discovered in a shed in the east end of Montreal.
When questioned by police, Tousignant would confess that he struck Bouchard with a hammer and placed his remains in a wooden box.
But he did not dispose of the makeshift coffin right away.
Tousignant would continued to live with his former room mates body in the apartment for another 7 months.
He also continued to cash Bouchard’s welfare cheques, used his credit card and sold Bouchard’s personal items and furniture.
7 months later Tousignant was facing eviction, so he dragged the wooden box containing Bouchard’s corpse out of the apartment in the middle of the night and left it in a shed nearby.

Tousignant would be convicted of second degree murder and sentenced to life with the possibility of parole after serving 10 years.
He was released on full parole in the late 1990’s however his parole would be revoked in March 2002 after he was arrested on fraud charges.
After he returned to prison, Tousignant earned his Bachelor degree and was again granted full release by the parole board in 2007.
But in August 2010 a Canada wide warrant was issued for his arrest, after an intensive investigation by Montreal police Child Sexual Exploitation unit.
Tousignant would be arrested a short time afterwards, and charged with possession and production of child pornography.

On April 9, 2025, Correctional Service Canada announced Guy-Charles Tousignant had passed away in custody from natural causes.
At the time of his death he was being housed at Archambault Institution located in Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines, Quebec.
