In a September 20th press release the Halifax District RCMP Major Crime Unit is requesting help from the public with a homicide investigation.
The Halifax RCMP responded to a report on August 30, 2022, at approximately 6:45 p.m., of a suspicious van parked behind a strip mall in East Preston. After arriving on the scene, RCMP officers discovered the body of a deceased male inside the vehicle.
He has now been identified as Barry Angus Studley, age 47 of Middle Sackville, an entrepreneur with a successful delivery and
metal recycling company

Police are looking for information about Studley and where he may have been in the days previous to August 30. Investigators are seeking dashcam video taken in the 1900 block of Hwy. 7 between the evening of August 29 and into, and including, the morning of August 30.
Anyone with information regarding the victim’s whereabouts in the days prior to the murder, who has dashcam footage of the area, or has information on this incident, is asked to contact Halifax District RCMP Major Crime Unit at 902-490-5020.
