On May 15 2016, Candice Rochelle Bobb, age 33, was killed while she was sitting in a stopped vehicle in the area of John Garland Boulevard & Jamestown Crescent..
She was also 5 months pregnant. Her baby, Kyrie, was delivered prematurely and died three weeks later.
Bobb was one of four people returning home from a basketball game when the vehicle was met with a hail of gun fire. Investigators say she was the only one in the car who was hit.
Police say that the vehicle was targeted, as the level of violence was ‘astronomically high’, but that Candice was not the intended victim.
Gang violence has not been ruled out as being the root cause of the shooting.
