Police have obtained a warrant for the arrest of 29 year old Jesse Myles St. Paul for his involvement in a robbery and kidnapping that occurred on October 1, 2022, on Provincial Road 227, in the RM of Westlake-Gladstone.
According to Portage la Prairie RCMP, two males were travelling in a truck with a camper, when they stopped for the night on PR 227, off Highway 16, in the RM of Westlake-Gladstone.
“One male was sleeping in the truck and the other male was sleeping in the camper.
At 4:30 am, three males opened the door and yelled at the victim to get out of the vehicle.”
A 33-year-old man who was inside the truck sleeping, was assaulted and threatened with a firearm.
The assailants got inside the truck and ran over the victim as they fled the scene in the truck and camper, unaware of the second victim, a 69 year old man, sleeping in the camper.
He was left unharmed, however the first victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The truck and camper was found soon afterwards near the intersection of Highway 16 and Highway 50.
Jesse Myles St. Paul has been charged with:
- Robbery with a firearm
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Pointing a Firearm
- Possession of a Firearm While Prohibited
He is described as 6 feet, 180lbs, with black hair and blue eyes
Jesse is known to frequent Portage la Prairie and Ebb and Flow First Nation. According to and RCMP press release, he is known to be violent and potentially dangerous. Police are warning the public not to approach him.
This is an ongoing investigation, and police are looking to identify additional suspects.
