On November 1, 2023, Darak Andrew More, an inmate from Mountain Institution, died while in custody.
At the time of his death, he had been serving an indeterminate sentence, which began on September 28, 2012, for the second-degree murder of Roberto Joseph Vincente.
More pleaded guilty to the charge of second degree murder along side Devin Riel Joseph. The two murdered Vincente after stealing his car stereo.
According to Correctional Service of Canada, they will review the circumstances surrounding the inmates death. CSC policy requires that the police and the coroner be notified.
