First degree murder charges laid in Megan Gallagher murder investigation

A fifth person has been arrested in the Megan Gallagher murder investigation according to Saskatoon police.

Robert James Thomas, age 27, was arrested in Prince George, B.C., and officers said he will appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court later this week.

The SPS major crime section said additional arrests are expected as the investigation continues.

Megan Michelle Gallagher, missing since September 19, 2020.

SPS Deputy Chief Randy Huisman said this investigation was far from over and they are also launching a search for Gallagher.

SPS Staff Sgt. Grant Obst said there is possible gang involvement to the investigation, and that the suspect has ties to Saskatoon.

Megan Gallagher has been missing for 2 years and police announced in January 2021 they were treating her disappearance as a homicide.

She was last seen on a surveillance camera at a Saskatoon convenience store back in 2020.
