On September 19th at 6:01 pm, Peel police were called about a report of a stabbing at a Canadian Tire in the Mavis and Britannia rd area.
Police arrived on the scene to find a man and a woman inside the store, the woman was suffering from obvious trauma, without any vital signs according to Const. Philip Yake.
The male accused was taken to hospital for minor injuries and has been placed into police custody and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not released the relationship between the victim and accused.
26-year-old Charanjeet Singh, of Mississauga, was charged with First Degree Murder. He appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice on September 20th in Brampton to answer to this charge.
UPDATE: The victim’s identity has been confirmed as Chandanpreet Kaur, 22. She was the wife of the accused.
