Lori Shannon Huntinghawk is Regina’s 4th murder victim of 2022.

24- year-old Tegan Lestat LaPlante, of Regina and 34-year-old Ashley Rempel, of Regina, have been charged with first degree murder.

The investigation began on May 23 at around 2:00 a.m. when patrol officers were dispatched following a report of a seriously injured woman in the 1200 block of Garnet Street. She was taken to hospital by EMS.

The two suspects were arrested and initially charged with attempted murder.

However, on June 6, Lori Huntinghawk died in hospital. Shortly afterwards, the Crown withdrew the original charges against both of the suspects, and replace them with first degree murder.

Laplante and Rempel made their first court appearance facing the new homicide charges in provincial court on the afternoon of June 23.
