On Tuesday, March 14, 2023, Jahmaal Frederick-Dywer, 35, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
On Monday, March 6, 2023, around 1 a.m., police located a man with gunshot wounds responded at the Roycroft Motel, at 3137 Kingston Road.
The victim was identified as Shawn Walters, 39, of no fixed address.
He was transported to hospital with life threatening injuries, but succumbed to his injuries on Sunday March 12.
Jahmaal Frederick-Dywer was scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
